Dinner & Jazz Series

Something to do in Harvard on a Friday night? Impossible you say?  Not if you head to the Center on the Common the first Weekend of every month to enjoy some live Jazz and great food.

Join us for this series of fundraisers to support the programs of Harvard’s newest resource for arts and culture.  We will feature a diverse group of local (and not so local) Jazz groups along with an excellent meal provided by Harvard’s very own foodie, Chef Paul. Wine and beer provided by the General Store (or you may bring your own). Doors open at 7pm for food and conversation. Music starts around 8pm.  Come on – why drive into Boston? All tickets are $35 and include music and dinner. Wine and Beer can be ordered separately through the General Store.

If you attended our very chill Jazz Brunch you had a chance to see Dave Fox in action. Dave is a very tasteful and melodic drummer who presents his free improvisation group that will improvise a jazz suite on the spot.  Every performance is a world premier! This is a totally fun performance that you do not want to miss.

Friday, June 7th: Mark Kross and Louise Rogers with the Faure Project

A special night where New York City Jazz comes to Harvard. Mark Kross, a superb Jazz pianist, presents his new project presenting the songs of Gabriel Faure in a Jazz idiom. Accompanied by singer Louise Rogers (her voice is “like a moonbeam from a distant solar system”, Jazz Times), this will be a very special evening at the Center on the Common.

Saturday, April 6th: The Don Hemwall Quartet  SOLD OUT
Order tickets here

We are very excited to bring you Boston’s Don Hemwall and his quartet for our next Jazz and Dinner at the Center on the Common. He is unparalleled in combining the styles of all the great jazz pianists into his own unique style of composition and harmonic embellishment. Every time Don plays a chorus he takes a different path. Always new and fresh leaving the listener delighted at each turn. You could go see him at the Bay Tower Room or the Copley Hotel but we will have him right here in Harvard.
